This role is being set-up to manage continued technical development and delivery of SMART and energy iIndustry integration services.
The role will provide Technical Ownership, in the form of a Technical Product Owner, of the supply chain that deliver and manage Smart Meter (SMART) products and propositions and industry integrations to Pure Planet. This includes: Smart Meter Providers; IHD Suppliers; Meter financing; Our industry integration partner; the DCC; our Meter Asset Provider and Meter Asset Manager; and other auxiliary providers. Additionally the role will be responsible for Smart Meter related deliveries from our Billing provider, our Web and App platform.
You’ll be responsible for working with our business to define and manage Pure Planet’s SMART roadmap and programmes plus overseeing the delivery of fixes for technical issues that impact operations and our Members. You’ll manage the co-ordination and delivery of Pure Planet’s requirements from our partners and internal delivery teams.
In addition, you’ll be responsible for the overall supply chain management for key suppliers, where the technical delivery is the key service.
You will be responsible for the coordination of an internal and external team including the Management Team, business analysts, business owners and SMEs, partners and the technical and operations team.
The work will include:
Strategic understanding the technologies and regulations around SMART and industry integration and help to shape the business strategy in these areas
Together with the relevant business owners managing the process to define, priorities and execute the SMART, industry integration and related products roadmap (including SMART, Pre-Pay, Smart Export Guarantee)
Managing all the change in these related areas through requirements, design, implement, test and go-live across our partner and internal team eco-systems
Managing the Smart operational rollout and production of any Smart internal (forecasting and delivery) and industry related reporting
Leading a exec level Pure Planet steering group
Overall company supplier management of the following partners: DCC, Meter Providers, IHD suppliers, Meter installers and Pre-Pay providers. Ensuring governance processes are in place and that strong relationships are built across all the relevant functions within the two organisations. This includes managing escalations from operational areas of the business who will manage the day to activities such as asset management, forecasting, returns, firmware, invoice reconciliation and installs
Regular reviews of our current roster of partners, which may lead to recommendation of new suppliers where appropriate
Representation and attendance of technically related SMART/Industry Integration forums (such as the SMART known issues forum and the Faster Switching Forum)
Holding a catalogue of known issues and scheduling the delivery for the resolution of these issues, across partners and internal teams
Management of the implementation of dashboards and reporting to monitor service performance
Project managing other technical project delivery associated with industry third parties
. The skills required to be successful will be:
Strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to act as a facilitator and translator between parties
Strong understanding and experience in Agile Project Management, Scrum and Product Ownership
Deep technical industry knowledge in the energy industry and in particular SMART, Metering, billing and industry flows
Proactive and diligence to tracking and managing issues and risks
Ability to find solutions to business issues
Experience in managing and collaborating with technical partners to create win-win outcomes
Ability to travel to suppliers across the country and therefore a full, clean driving license is essential
