We’re looking for a brilliant Event & Project Exec to join our team and help make our ecosystem even better. Job Role

Our community is the centre everything we do at TechSPARK. We act as the glue that helps stick together the tech sector and it’s how we make sure that people know about all the amazing jobs, events and news happening in the area. It’s a vital resource for helping tech businesses to grow. 

This job is all about helping that to happen, it will focus on supporting our team to organise exciting events and manage exciting projects that help our community. We’re a small start up working with some of the most exciting business in the UK and we want our team members to reflect that. We need people to work with us who are enthusiastic, inquisitive, outgoing, flexible and keen to work with our amazing tech cluster. 

The successful candidate will:

Events

  • – Support the team in the delivery of major events such as the SPARKies awards in addition to our meet ups and dinners
  • – Work with the team to ensure all partner enquiries are fully serviced, including proposals, function sheets, event logistics & contracts.
  • – Assist with the creation of event marketing collateral including signage, brochures and audio visual materials
  • – Attend events to ensure successful delivery, whilst representing and promoting the organisation

Projects

  • – Support the team in the development and delivery of projects to strengthen  our community such as SPARK School
  • – Help the team create engaging content for our website & social media for projects
  • – Provide administrative support to projects using our project management system

Skills and Competencies

  • – Engage people and help support our community.
  • – Work without close supervision. Able to prioritise, problem-solve & multi-task
  • – Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and inter-personal skills – question and listen to achieve a common understanding of complex issues to apply appropriate tactics and techniques on clear, convincing and consistent messages.
  • – Be willing to take a flexible and adaptable approach to work, able to travel, work unsocial hours and be prepared to put long hours in when circumstances demand it
  • – Have proven planning and organisation skills and be able to work to tight deadlines
  • – Demonstrable interest in and understanding of the global business landscape – what’s going on in the business & tech world?

Desirable

  • – Show experience of working for a digital or tech business
