Then we have the right opportunity—we are looking for a Development Security Operations Engineer to join us! In this amazing role you will help strengthen application scalability, automation, deployment speed, testing automation, and security posture on multiple cloud migration projects. You will work closely with development teams to understand application components and their build, deployment and dependency requirements. You will develop DevSecOps solutions using industry best practices in Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will support a transition to a Docker/Kubernetes infrastructure in AWS. In this role, you will also be responsible for developing an automated security framework using various scripting languages and open source solutions.

How you’ll make your mark:

  • You will assist in the transition of a large, cloud service system to AWS (using EC2), then a transition of the system to use Docker and Kubernetes
  • You will deploy, manage, and maintain systems in AWS. You may spend a small amount of time supporting DevSecOps in Google Cloud and Azure
  • You will engineer and implement automated DevSecOps pipelines that stably build, test, secure, and deploy artifacts to running environments
  • You will work with the Development team to develop deployment and installation processes
  • You will configure tooling that monitors the health of applications in the cloud
  • You will review and analyze vulnerability data to identify security risks to the organization’s network, infrastructure, and application’s and determine if any reported vulnerabilities are false positives. If issues occur, perform a root-cause analysis and change the system to avoid similar issues in the future.
  • You will write clear documentation of DevSecOps solutions.
  • You will document implemented security controls
  • You will research unfamiliar tools/technology/code, find new technology to improve DevSecOps solutions

About you:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • You are able to work with minimal direction and you show flexibility with requirement changes
  • You show demonstrable skills with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud providers
  • You have a Good knowledge of STIGs and an understanding of the Risk Management Framework
  • You have experience with DevSecOps tools, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • You have experience with DevOps workflows using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and others
  • You should be familiar with:
    • API Security, Container Security, AWS Cloud Security
    • AWS: Good experience with a wide range of AWS tools. Deep practical experience with Azure and Google cloud can substitute for AWS knowledge.
    • Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Git, Testing Automation
  • You should have 5+ years’ experience in Information Technology. 3+ years’ experience in DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools, and automation
    AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOpsAdministrator, AWS DevOps Engineer, or similar equivalents with Google or Azure)
  • You must have or be willing to obtain within 3 months one of these certifications: Security+ or another certification to qualify for IAT II (https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/ )
