About the role

As a FTSE100 company with over £100bn of assets under management cyber security is of paramount importance. Over the past few years we have developed a very capable Security Operations Centre (SOC). However, we are now looking to grow and evolve the capability. As part of this, we are looking to introduce the Cyber Threat Intelligence Manager role.

As well as taking an active role in the day to day activities of the SOC at HL, the CTI Manager will also be responsible for the acquisition and development of our cyber threat intelligence. One of the first tasks you will undertake in this new role is to evaluate where we are with our threat intelligence capability and identify any improvements with a view to developing our overall capability.

This role is ideally suited to a person with a strong background in cyber threat intelligence with experience working in the financial services industry. The role will also suit someone who is already aware of the multiple intelligence sharing forums that financial services collaborate in whilst being able to build and maintain relationships with key 3rd party suppliers.

Key Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Acquisition, development, assessment and management of threat intelligence
  • Developing the SOC to improve our capability in this vital area
  • Implementing a strategy to grow and enhance the CTI capability alongside the SOC Manager
  • Production and distribution of MI and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining tracking of key threat groups and threat actors using innovative techniques
  • Analysing the credibility of discovered intelligence
  • Performing risk assessments based on discovered intelligence to understand risks posed to Hargreaves Lansdown
  • Sharing intelligence with relevant internal teams and 3rd party partners
  • Advising other functions within the SOC and senior management on threats and trends

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • At least 3 years working in a SOC/threat intelligence role as a team leader, ideally within financial services
  • Recent and proven experience managing, assessing and developing threat intelligence
  • Broad knowledge of and understanding of IT
  • Excellent knowledge of IT security principles
  • Full stack knowledge from network to server
  • Knowledge of implementing threat intelligence into a medium-large enterprise

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • 3 years as a Manager working in a SOC or dedicated threat intelligence function
  • Degree educated in an IT related discipline
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate
  • IT based qualification preferably security related such as GCIA or CCSA
  • Experience using DLP tools, McAfee Enterprise suite including antivirus, HIPS, and rogue device detection.
  • APT detection and mitigation
  • Good numerical skills
  • Ability to code in multiple languages – Python, C# etc.
