Within the Back-End Drupal Product Developer role at Investis Digital, you will have leadership responsibility for planning, building and supporting the architecture and new features for the Connect.ID CMS platform built on Drupal. You’ll work alongside our solutions architecture team and other members of the development team to help identify requirements and plan out technical solutions.

You’ll be involved with a highly collaborative team working from high level, exploratory feature development with Drupal and other technologies to small defect resolutions and everything in between.

You’ll be working with a team that uses industry standard development practices (gitflow, phpcs and other code style standards) and a culture of unit and functional testing.

Key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Leading the development and execution of the over-arching strategy for the Connect.ID CMS platform build
  • Identifying requirements and planning out the technical approach to implement features within the product
  • Developing custom back-end functionality for the Connect.ID CMS product
  • Working with Docker and a range of CI/CD technologies
  • Helping to improve our development methods and practices demonstrating a commitment to quality
  • Keeping up to date with the latest development trends and introducing new technologies where relevant and appropriate
  • Contribution to open-source projects including drupal.org
  • Upholding code quality and development practice standards; acting as a role model for other developers within the business

From time to time, you will also

  • Consult on internal website builds that have used the Connect.ID CMS product, identifying performance and scalability improvements as well as “best practices” as defined within the product
  • Take an active role in product feature planning meetings
  • Contribute modules and patches to the Drupal open-source community

All applicants should posses

  • A track record of leading the strategy and execution of products / platforms built on Drupal
  • Recent experience working with Drupal 8/9
  • Strong PHP application architecture knowledge (OOP) with an understanding of common design patterns and anti-patterns
  • An understanding of version control systems, such as Git
  • Ability to understand problems and explain their complexity clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Commitment to creating clear documentation and understanding the requirements for it
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A friendly personality with strong interpersonal skill
